Doyle LLP Trial Lawyers has initiated a suit against Unum Life Insurance Company and The Paul Revere Life Insurance Company

Doyle LLP Trial Lawyers has initiated a suit against Unum Life Insurance Company and The Paul Revere Life Insurance Company (“Unum”) for breach of contract, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing, violations of the Texas Insurance Code, and violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices for the wrongful denial of a long term disability policy purchased from Unum.

The Plaintiff in this matter suffered from severe injuries due to an automobile accident. The injuries were severe and resulted in the need for hand surgery. Unfortunately, the injuries resulted in the Plaintiff’s inability to continue his practice as a surgeon, due to lost motion and pain. Long term disability policies are designed to provide financial benefits for those who are injured and unable to return to work. However, Unum refused to pay benefits. The suit was filed to recover these benefits and the other damages that have resulted from Unum’s refusal to pay benefits under the policy.
