Maritime – Tortious Interference/Defamation

Doyle LLP Trial Lawyers has filed suit against Navig8 Ship Management PTE LTD. and the Navig8 Group (collectively “Navig8”) alleging tortious inference with an existing contract, defamation, tortious interference with prospective business relations, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and fraud arising out of the acts committed by Naivg8 while Doyle LLP’s client was working for a new employer.

Naivg8 employed Doyle LLP’s Client for six years as a Pilot and Master on Navig8’s offshore vessel engaged in offshore maritime operations.  Doyle LLP’s Client later went to work as a master for another maritime company.  When this company began doing business with Navig8, Navig8 demanded that Doyle LLP’s client be nowhere near its vessel or cargo, along with sending false communications to his employer.  Indeed, not only did this cause Doyle LLP’s client to be removed from Navig8’s vessel, he was terminated due to the wrongful representations made by Navig8.

Doyle LLP’s Client had worked his entire career to build his professional reputation as a mariner and captain.  As a result of Navig8’s actions, Doyle LLP’s Client suffered consequential economic damages, loss of business reputation and wages, and mental anguish.

Doyle LLP represents maritime and offshore professionals who are injured due to the wrongful conduct of previous employers or current employers. If you or someone you know has suffered as a result of misrepresentations made by another party, contact us.
